29th June 2012, Friday midnight - The much awaited holiday has finally come.
I am all set to fly to Europe and meet Vamsi - my husband (which was my priority than
visiting Europe :D). Parents, in-laws came to see me off. I met Sunitha – my
husband’s colleague, Koti's wife who is also coming to visit Europe. We bid farewell to our
families and started for the formalities. This time it all went very
nice unlike the last time (Our Dubai visit – I’ll explain this experience
itself in another blog). Another positive thing this time is
that I had a companion traveling with me. I was quite comfortable with all the
formalities as I had already traveled abroad once before. This time’s
challenge is to change flight @ Dubai. We met the challenge without any hitch
(The fact is that both of us were in a mood of ‘the other person will take care
of things even if I miss something’ but never let the other person know that
each of us was actually afraid ;)) After 16 hours of travel, finally came the
destination – The Netherlands. I met my husband and so did Sunitha as her husband,
her brother and sis-in-law were waiting for her. We took a local train from the
airport plus a taxi to reach Nijmegen(pronounced nye-may-ghun) where my husband’s accommodation
was provided. We started to Barcelona the next day. My next few blogs will cover our Barcelona, Venice, Florence, Pisa and Paris visits.
